Tuesday June 28th Emari DiGiorgio & Tamiko Beyer at Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam
Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam & Open Mike
Tuesday June 28th 7PM – 9PM
Feature Writers: Emari DiGiorgio & Tamiko Beyer
Tamiko Beyer ‘s chapbook, Bough Breaks, sets out to interrogate queer motherhood, implications of gender, and the politics of adoption. Tisa Bryant writes, “She skillfully breaks and resets form, creating poems that are terse, tender and ultimately, enduring.”
Emari DiGiorgio writes poems about living in the world as a female westerner and confronting one’s education and stereotypes. The poems often explore the roles women embody, as mothers, daughters, friends, lovers, aggressors, and victims; and they celebrate the body and female sexuality.
