Tues 3/25 Nicole Santalucia & Marisa Frasca Read at Bluestocking’s Women/Trans Poetry Jam
Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam & Open Mike
Tuesday March 25th 7pm – 9pm
Feature Writers: Nicole Santalucia & Marisa Frasca
Nicole Santalucia’s poetry thematically involves sexuality/identity, drug addiction and alcoholism, and familial relationships. She often base her narrative poems (often described to have surreal characteristics) on what it is like to live in Binghamton, NY and New York City — two places where she has lived the majority of her life and that have greatly influenced her.
Marisa Frasca’s poems deal with feminist issues, others a naturalist’s concerns, yet others are about an immigrant’d duality and experiences, but her characters are usually women and how they face questions of love, pain, subjugation, coming of age and growing into old age.
