Tues 11/24 Trace Peterson & Michelle Austin read at Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam at Bluestockings
Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam & Open Mike for Women & Trans’
Tuesday Nov 24th 7pm – 9pm
Feature Writers: Trace Peterson & Michelle Austin
Trace Peterson is a trans woman poet who has been an active, activist curator and publisher of queer and trans literature in the NY poetry scene and beyond for the past 10 years. Her feminist writing explores what it means to be trans and female, what it means to be read while attempting to invent oneself in a habitable language, and what it means to help construct community by bringing together multiple audiences to make new things happen in poetry and life.
Michele Austin is a traditional long form fiction writer struggling to grow beyond the novel, while at the same time working on two novels. Her themes are contemporary love and life with an emphasis on the quirkier bits.
