A major theme of Iris N. Schwartz is a protagonist overcoming barriers to become her or his true self. The barriers can be physical, psychological, or otherwise. Another theme is celebrating one’s sensual self.
Dawn Leas writes about the connectedness and disconnect between people and place usually places a significant role in her writing. She also writes about motherhood, religion and spirituality and addiction.
