Tues 5/31 Jan Clausen & Sophia Wortzel At Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam – Bluestockings
Women’s & Trans’ Poetry Jam & Open Mike for Women & Trans’
Tuesday May 31st 7pm – 9pm
Feature Writers: Jan Clausen & Sophia Wortzel
Jan Clausen’s new poetry/hybrid Veiled Spill: A Sequence bridges poetry and prose, lyric and documentary, sampling and improvisation, conventional stanzas and impertinent word-bursts. Key preoccupations include: gender and race, our complicity in state terror, the persistence of religious questions in the absence of gods, the brooding presence of uncontrollable technologies, and the desperate freedom of art at a time when conventional social action seems powerless to halt the wreck of the biosphere.
